Intersections on transit streets pose extra challenges: they must account for the size of transit vehicles and their large turning radii, as well as conflicts from other street users. But while buses and light rail vehicles may require more, or dedicated, street space, thoughtful intersection design can yield more efficient transit service facing fewer conflicts.
