Centering and Understanding Equity in Projects and Design

Centering and Understanding Equity in Projects and Design

Design is not neutral. From a launch meeting to end results on a street, projects embody the values of the people, process, and policies that make them. In this workshop, participants will learn to infuse equity into their work so that the projects they contribute to may become more equitable. Participants will discuss various definitions of equity in order to: understand current conditions from an equitable perspective, center equity within their baseline workplans, and message network prioritization based on equity and justice. Participants will work through case studies and relevant project examples in order to gain direct, applied understanding.
