Phil Ting was elected to the State Assembly in 2012, representing the 19th Assembly District which spans the West side of San Francisco as well as the communities of Broadmoor, Colma, and Daly City.  He brings a unique combination of financial skills, a commitment to civil rights, and years of experience from local government service to his work.  As a lawmaker, Phil is fighting for education reform and reinvestment; harnessing technology for a cleaner economy and more open government; and equal rights for all Californians.  In his first year, Phil was appointed to serve in Assembly leadership as Chair of the Democratic Caucus where he pursues consensus-based solutions to problems facing California.
