Eric is the Senior Director of Transit Development at the New York City Department of Transportation. In that role he works to make public transportation in New York City work better through better street design and use of technology, and also serves as a key policy advisor on transit issues for the City. He has worked with the MTA to implement Select Bus Service, New York City’s brand name for Bus Rapid Transit, on ten corridors citywide, substantially improving bus operations and ridership. He also oversees planning and implementation of other types of transit priority projects, from more focused street design changes to broader policy initiatives. He has worked at NYCDOT for ten years, after receiving a Master’s degree in urban planning.
