NACTO Camp: It’s Storytime! Virtual engagement with ESRI’s Storymaps

NACTO Camp: It’s Storytime! Virtual engagement with ESRI’s Storymaps

In the time of social distancing, Boston Transportation Department (BTD) has made extensive use of ESRI’s Storymaps to create interactive “virtual open houses” for projects at various stages of delivery. We will share several examples, discuss the creation process, and talk about how Storymaps fits within the larger constellation of our project outreach. This is not intended as an in-depth tutorial or tour of product features (since we’re not ESRI :-p) but we will share some features and resources we found useful.

This session will include an informal presentation followed by questions and discussion. Interested in using Storymaps for your outreach? Come with questions!

Knowing that 2020 is a year of learning for all of us, we welcome feedback on our products as well as your insight if you have used Storymaps for project outreach.

Nathaniel Fink and Jennifer Rowe from BTD’s Active Transportation Team will host this session.

We plan to share several of the following Storymaps which can view in advance:
