To achieve growth in bicycling, bikeway design needs to meet the needs of a broader set of potential bicyclists. Many existing bicycle facility designs exclude most people who might otherwise ride, traditionally favoring very confident riders. NACTO’s All Ages and Abilities guidance sets a criteria for selecting and implementing bike facilities that meet the needs of a much broader set of users.
In this session, learn the concepts behind an All Ages and Abilities bike network, and how to implement one. Hear also how an All Ages and Abilities network can advance city goals, including improved traffic safety, and better and more equitable access to jobs and opportunities.
