Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway Design and Implementation Bike Tour

Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway Design and Implementation Bike Tour

The Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway was identified as a priority route in the City’s 1993 Greenway Plan, which outlined a vision for a citywide 350-mile network of greenways. This tour will focus on the planning, design and implementation of 14-miles of waterfront route along one in one of the most dynamic parts of New York City, the Brooklyn Waterfront. This bicycle tour will trace the route of the greenway from Greenpoint to Red Hook and will include discussions of recreational versus transportation corridors, urban separated bike paths, bicycle and pedestrian improvements in a rezoning context, temporary versus long-term paths, and effective relationships with non-profits.
