Planning While Black: A Powerful Call for Racial Equity

Oct 25, 2016

NACTO was honored last month to have Tamika Butler, Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, give a frank and inspiring keynote at the 2016 Designing Cities Conference.

In her speech, “Planning While Black,” Tamika unpacked the issue of race, equity, and privilege in the planning community, imploring planners, advocates, and practitioners to explicitly think about race and identity in the course of doing our work, and perform critical self-reflection as a profession.

Please take an hour of your time, and watch with your undivided attention.
