Luann Hamilton

Luann Hamilton has worked at the Chicago Department of Transportation and its predecessor agency, the Department of Public Works, for more than 31 years.  Since 2005, Luann has served as the Deputy Commissioner of the CDOT Division of Project Development.  She is responsible for Transportation Planning and Programming, Traffic Design, Livable Streets Implementation, Citywide Services (including Divvy bikeshare and bike/pedestrian safety education) and Public Way Policy. Her division is charged with ensuring that the department’s Complete Streets policy is incorporated in all of the department’s work.  She oversees a staff of more than 50.

Luann has a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from DePaul University, and a Master’s degree in Geography with an emphasis on urban studies from Penn State University.
