George Branyan

George Branyan has served as the Pedestrian Program Coordinator at the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) since 2005. Before joining DDOT, Mr. Branyan served for 5 years as the Pedestrian, Bicycle, and School Zone Safety Coordinator for the Maryland Highway Safety Office. Mr. Branyan works on a variety of engineering, education, enforcement and development review programs within DDOT’s Planning and Sustainability Division. Mr. Branyan oversaw the development of DC’s first Pedestrian Master Plan in 2008 and advocates for innovative practices to improve pedestrian safety and access in Washington DC.
