Doug Weirsig is the Transportation Director for the City of Fort Worth. He holds three degrees in civil engineering: a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada at Reno, a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. In over 30 years of work in the field, Wiersig held executive positions with the City of Houston, the City of Dallas and Cobb County, Georgia; he taught civil engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington and, recently, served for seven years as manager of infrastructure programs at Houston-based Jacobs Engineering. As Transportation Director, Weirsig attempts to further enhance service and sustainability programs as he works to expand Fort Worth and its economic vitality.
