Patrick Powell is the Director of Operations and Preparedness for the Golden Triangle Business Improvement District, where his work focuses on enhancing the cleanliness, well-maintained appearance, and safety and security of the Golden Triangle, D.C. neighborhood. In this role, he manages the Golden Triangle Ambassadors, a large complex public realm cleaning/maintenance program, that serves as the most visible outward-facing part of the Golden Triangle. In addition to overseeing the Ambassador program, he oversees the Golden Triangle’s public realm maintenance and landscaping, member services, and safety and security programs, he also oversees the Golden Triangle’s Homeless Outreach program. Prior to being promoted to Director, he was the Safety and Security Program Manager for the organization and worked directly with members to enhance safety and preparedness through exercises, drills, training, and information sharing.
Previously, Mr. Powell worked for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments in public safety planning in the areas of fire response, law enforcement, and transportation. He also has over ten years of experience as a professional firefighter/medic in Henrico County, VA and Fairfax County, VA.
