Laurie Alemian-Derian

Laurie Alemian-Derian joined NACTO in 2015 and serves as Director of Finance and Administration. In this role, she oversees the non-program operational functions and manages financial, human resources and administrative aspects of the organization.

Ankita Chachra

Title: Senior Program Manager I, Global Designing Cities Initiative

Ankita joined NACTO in 2015 and helped with the writing and production of the Global Street Design Guide. Her current work involves applying tools and strategies from the Global Street Design Guide to address street and public space design challenges, which cities around the world are currently facing. She has been managing NACTO-GDCI’s efforts to improve road safety in Sao Paulo since early 2016, and plays a support role for the team’s work in Mumbai.

Ted Graves

Title: Program Manager, Bike Share Initiative

Ted Graves is the Program Manager of NACTO’s Bike Share Initiative, a multi-year, grant-funded program to evaluate best practices in bike share throughout North America, with a focus on strategies for reaching under-represented groups.

Kate Fillin-Yeh

Title: Director of Strategy

Kate Fillin-Yeh is Director of Strategy at NACTO, working on bike share, safety, and other policy issues. Prior to NACTO, Kate designed and implemented Citi Bike, the nation’s largest and most heavily used bike share program.

Craig Toocheck

Title: Staff Engineer, City of Pittsburgh

Craig Toocheck joined NACTO in 2014. He is one of the principal authors of the Transit Street Design Guide, and is now working with cities nationwide to incorporate the guide’s concepts in transit projects. Craig also helps plan and lead trainings and workshops, designs graphics for NACTO publications, and works with member cities to keep NACTO guidance on the vanguard of the practice.

Matthew Roe

Title: Former Technical Lead at NACTO

Matthew leads NACTO’s street design work in North America, serving as technical editor of the organization’s design guidance.

Janette Sadik-Khan

Title: Principal, Bloomberg Associates

NACTO Title: NACTO Chair

Janette Sadik-Khan is one of the world’s foremost authorities on transportation and urban transformation. She served as New York City’s transportation commissioner from 2007 to 2013 under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, overseeing historic changes to the city’s streets—closing Broadway to cars in Times Square, building nearly 400 miles of bike lanes and seven rapid bus lines, launching the largest bike share program in North America and creating more than 60 plazas citywide. A founding principal with Bloomberg Associates, she works with mayors around the world to reimagine and redesign their cities.

Robin Hutcheson

Title: Director of Public Works, Minneapolis

NACTO Title: NACTO President

Robin Hutcheson is the Director of Public Works for Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is responsible for all aspects of the public right of way, including public utility and transportation business lines. Robin mobilizes multiple teams to leverage investments in infrastructure for broader City goals, including resiliency, mobility, and economic vitality. She is focused on transformative transportation infrastructure and systems with emphasis on equity, safety and preparing for change.

Crissy Fanganello

Title: Director of Transportation & Mobility, Denver Public Works

Crissy Fanganello is Denver’s first Director of Transportation and Mobility overseeing transportation planning, engineering and operations citywide. Ms. Fanganello oversees the policy, institutionalization and implementation of the city’s multimodal vision as developed in Denver’s Strategic Transportation Plan (STP) for which she was the primary author.
