Christoph Gisel is a Senior Lighting Designer in Arup’s New York office. Prior to joining the New York team, he was part of the lighting design team of Arup Berlin and worked for different architecture and design offices in Europe. Christoph holds a degree in interior architecture and furniture design from Konstfack in Stockholm and builds on his prior background in electronics development from his time at ETH in Zurich. Christoph’s focus in his work at Arup is the creation of inviting and inspiring environments; he is a nighttime designer who appreciates public spaces as the meeting point for everyone. Lighting for urban infrastructure such as parks, roads and bridges and on a global transit scale; airports is one of his professional passions.
