Catherine Ciarlo is the Active Transportation & Safety Division Manager for the Portland Bureau of Transportation. Her portfolio includes Portland’s Vision Zero initiative, new mobility implementation (including bike share and E-scooters), the city’s Safe Routes to School program, and other transportation demand management activities and open streets events.
Prior to joining PBOT, Catherine was a Senior Project Manager at CH2M/Jacobs, where she led active transportation and safety projects for cities around the U.S., including bike/ped, transit planning and Vision Zero projects. Catherine served as the Transportation Policy Director in the Portland Mayor’s Office from 2008 to 2012 and is a former member of the City of Portland Planning and Sustainability Commission. She chaired TriMet’s Transit Equity Advisory Committee and currently serves as the Governor-appointed convener of the Portland Metro area Regional Solutions Advisory Committee.
