NACTO is excited to offer a two-part training to St. Petersburg City Staff on May 19 and 26, 2021.
This workshop will provide attendees with tools they can immediately put to use to seamlessly deliver great Complete Streets projects, per the City of St. Petersburg’s Complete Streets policy. Attendees will cover strategies to strengthen internal partnerships; develop a shared understanding of the role of streets in building community; and leave with an understanding of how Complete Streets can help achieve the City’s goals. Open to City of St. Petersburg staff.
The American Cities Climate Challenge
St. Petersburg is partnering with NACTO and Toole Design for communications and internal coordination with the city’s Complete Streets Program to streamline project delivery and support the consistent design and implementation of bike, walking, and transit corridors in targeted locations citywide. This partnership, including the virtual workshop, is supported by the Bloomberg Philanthropies American Cities Climate Challenge, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the two highest emitting sectors, buildings and transportation, through transformative interventions and policy initiatives. St. Petersburg is one of 25 Climate Challenge cities; since joining the program, St. Petersburg has successfully leveraged Climate Challenge partners and city resources to advance climate action, including increasing solar capacity on municipal facilities and announcing a community-wide 100% Clean Energy transition (the first city in Florida to do so).
