Yohannes Dadi has grown up in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and graduated from Haramaya University in Civil engineering. He completed Master of Technology degree in Transportation Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD), New Delhi, India in July 2015. Before joining IITD, Yohannes was an instructor at Dire Dawa Institute of Technology, Civil engineering department.
Yohannes is a Transport Engineer and Traffic safety and management division head at Addis Ababa City Transport Programs Management office. He coordinates and leads traffic safety and flow improvement projects/programs. The major projects conducted under his leadership and involvements are the Safe Intersections Program (SIP), Africa Avenue (Bole road) safety improvement project, Kazanchis area traffic flow improvement project, Fatal crash hotspot locations improvement projects, 27 Intersections signalization project, design reviews etc.
Yohannes has core competencies in road safety, injury prevention, traffic control, microscopic modelling and simulation, traffic signal planning and design, traffic signal coordination, optimization, area-wide traffic flow improvement, blackspot management, traffic calming intersection transformation and using computational tools.
Yohannes helps City transport departments, agencies, traffic control centers to effectively improve road traffic safety and mobility problems.
Yohannes lives in Addis Ababa with his wife and young son. Yohannes likes family time, soccer, photography, travelling and gardening.
