Terra Ishee has been engaged in improving the pedestrian realm in New York City since 2001. She joined the New York City Department of Transportation in 2007, and is currently the Director of the Pedestrian Projects Group. Ms. Ishee oversees a multi-disciplinary team that designs and implements up to 40 street improvement projects a year, working toward the agency’s Vision Zero goal, and providing safe accessibility to all street users. Additionally, Ms. Ishee has developed policies and design standards that guide the design of pedestrian facilities for agencies and contractors working on New York City streets. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of Art Institute of Chicago, and a Master of Planning from the University of Southern California.
