Sue Lai is a Senior Transportation Engineer for the Port of Los Angeles where she manages the Port’s Transportation Improvement Program. This Program consists of the planning, development, and design of transportation improvements in and around the port vicinity to improve the movement of goods through this international gateway. Recently, she successfully oversaw efforts to bring bike share to the port.
Coming from a family of traffic engineers, Sue started her career early learning the trade from her father. She holds both Civil Engineering and Traffic Engineering professional licenses. Sue has a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Irvine and a Master of Leadership from the University of Southern California. She is an active member of WTS and strong supporter of its mission to advance women in transportation.
