Nick Jackson is a Vice President at Toole Design Group and the Director of the firm’s Boston, MA office. Nick has over 15 years of experience leading urban street and bikeway planning and design projects in major North American cities including Boston, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, New York City and Philadelphia. A major focus of his work has been developing and implementing multimodal street design guidelines. Most recently, Nick led the development of comprehensive new street design guidelines for the City of Boston, which include a new system of context-sensitive street types, detailed roadway, sidewalks and intersection design guidance. In addition to having a wide range of urban street and bikeway design experience, Nick is a skilled project manager, presenter and facilitator with a reputation for consensus building. Nick has received numerous professional awards and his work has recognized by the Congress for New Urbanism (CNU), the Institute for Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the American Planning Association (APA). In 2014, Nick received the Private Sector Professional of the Year award from the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP).
