Lynda Lopez is a transportation reporter for Streetsblog Chicago focusing on transit oriented development, displacement, and bike equity. She is also the Active Transportation Alliance’s Fair Fares Organizer, a campaign to bring discounted fares for low-income transit riders in the Chicagoland region. As an avid bicyclist, Lynda was selected as the Southwest Side representative for the Mayor’s Bike Advisory Council. She also serves on the Active Transportation Alliance’s Community Equity Advisory Group. In 2018, Active Trans selected her as the City Advocate of the Year. On a national level, Lynda is on the core organizers team of The Untokening, a multiracial collective that centers the lived experiences of marginalized communities to address mobility justice and equity. Transit Center, a foundation that works to improve public transit, selected Lynda as a mentee for their inaugural Women Changing Transportation Mentorship Program.
