An active city is a vibrant city. Laura believes that sufficient and attractively designed space for physical activity enhances the appeal and quality of life. The Active city program in Amsterdam integrates expertise in the area of behavioral change with expertise of spatial design, supported by data analytics. As the coordinator of this program Laura is working on improving and expanding the possibilities to cycle, walk, sport and play in Amsterdam. In her fast growing city, public space for these ends is becoming ever scarcer and busier. As an urban designer Laura likes to seek for the innovative solutions to deal with this. To assess effectiveness of these solutions, her team monitors their interventions in close cooperation with universities and learn by doing.
