LaKeisha Henderson is a creative problem solver, planner, designer, and cyclist. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech and a Master of City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University’s City and Regional Planning program. Her professional journey allowed her to chart a path among respected Architecture and Engineering firms, federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of State, and into business ownership. She shares this experience and her desire to promote design equity, comprehensive planning, and sustainable development in her role on local boards and as a Commissioner on the Baltimore City Mayor’s Advisory Bicycle Commission. During her 20 plus years of shaping the built environment, she sought to simultaneously translate these skills into ways to support her community.
Bike and Brunch Tours was borne out of her love for her community and the desire to see history preserved, legacy uplifted, counter negative stigmas with positive experiences, and connect riders to local organizations and businesses who do the same. Navigating these spaces coupled with her lived experiences gives her a unique and valuable vantage point.
