Jennifer Cohen is the Director of Government Affairs for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT). As a member of the department’s executive team she is LADOT’s primary liaison to the City Council and other government entities and leads the department’s strategy and analysis on all local, state and federal legislative issues. In this capacity she covers traditional transportation issues of parking, congestion, and transit, as well as new and emerging technologies such as drones and autonomous vehicles. Prior to joining LADOT she oversaw state and federal government and regulatory affairs at the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink), served as a legislative deputy for the Los Angeles City Council, and worked in the private sector as a consultant. She has a master’s degree in Public Policy from USC and undergraduate degrees in history and sociology from UCLA.
