From within TriMet’s Planning & Policy group (in the Portland, Oregon metro area), Jeff Owen is the TriMet Strategic Planning Coordinator. This involves planning and coordinating the development of TriMet’s strategic and long-range goals and policies, and working to implement those goals and policies through federal, state, and regional partnerships and coordination. This includes environmental and performance-based planning and sustainability-related policies, and the development and implementation of a visionary mobility program and strategies that meet TriMet’s transportation and livability goals. Jeff has been with TriMet six years, including as a planner focusing on access to transportation and active transportation. Before joining TriMet, Jeff has worked in transportation, land use and urban design in the public and private sector in Oregon, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. Jeff has a Master of City and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. Jeff is also Chair of the Port of Portland’s PDX Airport Community Advisory Committee (PDX CAC). Outside of work, Jeff can be found walking, hiking, biking, and cheering in the Timbers Army.
