Jean Crowther, AICP has more than fifteen years of experience fostering change and innovation in cities and regions across the U.S. She is a Principal with Alta Planning + Design and leads the firms emerging mobility practice, working at the intersection of transportation and technology. Her outcomes-oriented approach to planning and commitment to reducing mobility barriers is reflected in every project – whether a citywide transportation system plan, micromobility study, trail corridor analysis, or mobility hub design. Jean’s national portfolio includes rural small towns, major metro areas, and multi-state regions. She is based in Portland, OR, and prior to joining Alta, spent seven years as an advocate for active transportation and outdoor recreation in both Austin, TX and South Carolina. Jean is a co-founder and board member of the nonprofit globalbike, which supports women-owned bike rental and repair programs in rural Tanzania.
