As Senior Manager of Member Experience, Ethany engages and supports NACTO’s member agencies, helping them to get the most out of their membership. She is passionate about building more sustainable, accessible, and equitable communities.
Over her 20 years in the nonprofit sector, Ethany has worked at the intersections of art and design, social justice, community development, and civic engagement. Most recently, she spent a decade helping to build the civic crowdfunding platform In Our Backyards, where she collaborated with nonprofits, city agencies, companies, artists, and community residents nationwide to advance the work of urban sustainability and connectedness. Previously, she led government grantmaking programs at Brooklyn Arts Council, where she worked to improve equity in arts funding and to encourage creative activations of public spaces.
Ethany holds a B.A. in Arts Education from Syracuse University and an M.A. in Art History from the University of Buffalo. She can frequently be found in her art studio, exploring upstate New York, or impulse-buying produce in one of NYC’s many green markets.
