Danny currently serves as Assistant City Manager for the City of Charlotte where he providing leadership in transportation and public safety. He joined the City of Charlotte as a deputy transportation director and became the Director of Charlotte Department of Transportation in 2009.  Before coming to Charlotte, Danny served as transportation planning bureau chief for the City of Orlando.  He also served as a planner in Atlanta GA and Chapel Hill, and Fayetteville NC.

Danny holds a Master of Urban Planning from Texas A&M University College of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science from NC State University’s College of Natural Resources.

He served on the Executive Board of the National Association of City Transportation Officials. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the Urban Land Institute, and the Congress for the New Urbanism. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.
