Chiara Fasi breathes new life into traditional live string performances. Through a unique blend of Classical, Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop and Electronic Music, she leaves the audience with experience they will never forget. She began playing violin at the age of 11 and graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. While in Florida she performed with local classical groups including the Hollywood Orchestra, Miami Symphony and Boca Philharmonic. She has shared the stage and recorded with notable artists such as Miley Cyrus, Mark Ronson, Solange, Dionne Warwick, The Roots, Jay-Z & Mary J Blige on the “Heart Of The City Tour”, Jasmine Sullivan, John Legend, Kanye West, Chaka Kahn, Usher, Tyler the Creator, Uchi Kalis, Yolanda Adams, Thalia, Kim Burrell, and Miri-Ben Ari. Her television performance credits include The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live, BET Black Girls Rock, MTV Music Awards, The Victoria Secret Fashion Show, and Univision Awards show.
An in-demand ensemble player, she has performed at numerous venues including Carnegie Hall, Apollo Theatre, The Schomberg Center for African American Studies, Radio City Music Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Lincoln Center concerts in the park, and with regional orchestras including the Brooklyn Orchestra, Brooklyn Metro Chamber Orchestra, and Harlem Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist she has shared the stage with Lauryn Hill, opened for Talib Kweli, opened for Major Hype at Kings Theatre, and was featured performer at the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. Also a band leader, her instrumental group the “Chiara Collective” has performed on BET Black Girls Rock, Highline Ballroom, Blue Note NYC, Le Poisson Rouge, Nublu NYC, Chelsea Music Hall, and Apollo Theatre.
A talented arranger, composer and producer, Chiara has composed & arranged strings for the BET Documentary “Martin: The Legacy of King”, arranged strings for the educational website “Flocabulary”, and for the short film “Moves We Make”, and a recent holiday commercial for Seguras Viduas. She currently teaches in the TEP Contemporary Music Program at Long Island University.
