Brandie Lockett’s passion for urban design inspires planning and development projects, whether urban, suburban or rural, to bring out vibrant opportunities in unlikely places. Her projects focus on envisioning underperforming and overlooked spaces into welcoming environments that help re-value land and revitalize neighborhoods in beauty, sustainability, and social well-being. In partnership with stakeholders, she provides design recommendations driven by user preference to develop comprehensive strategies for practical transition to implement and maintain projects in aesthetic, long-term relevance, and need.
She is currently spearheading the development of Houston METRO’s Urban Transit Design Guides in a collaborative effort to direct METRO design consultants to create transit infrastructure that is enhanced by urban ecology, supported by public health analysis, and conveniently linked to natural and alternative mobility networks.
