With 25 years experience as a transport planner/engineer, Andy represents Leicester City Council on all aspects of cycling development. He established the Cycle City Action Plan supported by over 40 organisations and lead on Infrastructure, Promotions, Training and Engagement. He also directly manages the Ride Leicester Programme including an annual two week bike festival and citywide outreach projects as well as events like the 2016 Cycle City Active City conference for 800+ delegates.
Andy has overseen continuous growth in everyday cycling numbers (10-15% p.a) since 2006. His focus is to initiate and establish development work with partners including British Cycling, Leicester City FC, De Montfort University, Curve, clubs, advocate groups and other stakeholders organisations to deliver change for pro-cycling, active travel and livable cities. He volunteers for Motion Disabled art project, Wheels for All cycling club, Leicester Comedy Festival and Middlesbrough Football Club. He is proud to have lived and worked in Leicester for 24 years and advocate for ‘Team Leicester.’
