How can a functioning road diet be applied to a high-volume traffic circle? Join City project managers on a tour of Somerville’s College Avenue corridor, which is only 40’ wide but handles 200+ bus trips per day. We’ll examine aggressive physical traffic calming treatments and one of America’s most progressive quick-build traffic circle reconfigurations. Along the way, we’ll ask you to share experiences from your own constrained corridors, and compare notes on curb management changes, including the procedural and legal dynamics at play.
