Los Angeles is the first major city to have an electric car sharing pilot serving disadvantaged communities. This program – BlueLA – utilizes Cap & Trade grant funds from the Air Resources Board to double the presence of car sharing within Los Angeles and to improve the availability of the service to low-income Angelenos by adding 100 electric vehicles in diverse communities. The EV pilot is expected to recruit at least 7,250 new users and help to advance the goals of LA’s Sustainable City Plan.
