Quick-build projects allow cities to experiment, and get projects implemented fast, with immediate results for mobility and safety. This design philosophy also allows for iterative changes to a street, to allow for context-specific design that oftentimes does not reveal a great solution until several are tried and tweaked. This session will focus on the key elements of quick-build projects, including the importance of interim materials and allowing flexibility to change a street’s design when the data shows that a different approach would work better.
