New York City recently implemented elements of its Smart Curbs program on Manhattan’s Upper West Side to explore new curb uses in a more comprehensive, geographically focused way. After a planning study informed by data collection and public engagement, NYC DOT reconfigured parking meter regulations and installed new loading zones, on-street bike parking, public space, freight delivery microhubs, and more. Join our upcoming curb management peer network meeting to learn about the process, successes, and challenges of this project.
Speakers:
- Jonathan Hawkins, Director of NYC Streets Plan, New York City Department of Transportation
- Madi Salter, Smart Curbs Coordinator, New York City Department of Transportation
- David Stein, Executive Director, Parking Planning and Policy, New York City Department of Transportation
