Digital Design Charrette: Minneapolis

MEMBERS-ONLY EVENT

As summer transitions to fall, and this year’s building season shifts to next year’s planning, cities are laying the groundwork for future projects that will adapt streets to create more space for people. Join NACTO and the City of Minneapolis for a digital design charrette on the Whittier/Lyndale Bikeway project — planned improvements to make existing bikeways safer for people of all ages and abilities — on August 10th, 1:30 pm – 3pm (EST) / 12:30PM – 2PM (CST).

The Whittier/Lyndale Bikeway project will enhance existing bike facilities in the project corridor, improve connections to the citywide bike network, strengthen pedestrian crossings at intersections, and add protection at intersections for people on bikes. Minneapolis is looking for peer feedback on the best design treatments to maintain safety, slow speeds, and improve connections to adjacent existing and planned bikeways.

Peer reviewers from the US and Canada will share their diverse expertise in bikeway operations and design to support Minneapolis in this vital project.
