NACTO has hired Eric Gilliland, former head of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA), as their new executive director starting in April 2010. Mr. Gilliland has a long history of working in the transportation sector in the Washington, DC region, where he oversaw WABA’s work on events around the region and successful advocacy campaigns that have impacted many city transportation projects. Under Mr. Gilliland’s leadership, WABA grew as an organization, increasing its budget by over $700,000, and growing its staff from two employees to ten.
