Transit Priority Info Session: NYCDOT’s Fast Buses, Better Service plan

Sep 14, 2026 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm ET (noon-1 pm PT)

This summer, New York City Mayor Mamdani and New York Governor Hochul unveiled a new bus action plan to improve bus service citywide. This plan, Next Stop: Fast Buses, Better Service, features investments and commitments for both the state-controlled Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and the New York City Department of Transportation that will benefit millions of riders.

Next Stop: Fast Buses, Better Service identifies 50 priority corridors where NYC DOT and the MTA will target investments to address the city’s slowest and most delay-prone bus routes. Five corridors were identified as the first phase of the City’s next generation of rapid bus routes. Further, the plan calls for new investments in bus stops, transit signal priority, and expanded automated camera enforcement of bus routes.

Our speakers will include:

  • Diniece Mendes, Assistant Commissioner for Transit Development,
  • Chris Hrones, Director of Transit Planning and Policy, and
  • Nolan Levenson, Senior Director of Rapid Bus Programs
