Come join us for the November Public Realm Peer Network Meeting on Wednesday, November 12th at 3 p.m.! We’re very excited to announce a fantastic cohort of presenters to discuss street closure projects or programs:
Alexandria, VA: King Street
New York City, NY: Open Streets, Plaza, and Street Seats Program
Vancouver, BC: Neighborhood Pop-up Plaza Program and the Gastown Pedestrian Pilot
Detroit, MI: Monroe Street Plan
Indianapolis, IN: SPARK on the Circle
Portland, ME: Wharf and Dana Streets
Our colleagues will share all the juicy details about how they were able to successfully pedestrianize streets in their city, with many involving a temporary pilot before the more permanent changes. We’ve included a diversity of city sizes and locations to show that all cities have the power to shift our streets to prioritize people. We’ll also have time to brainstorm a street closure database meant to assemble and consolidate data from cities for future coordination and access to best practices.
This event is only open to staff at NACTO member agencies. Member agency staff can find information on how to join the meeting on our member forum, here.
