Alex Engel joined NACTO in 2016 as a Senior Program Associate. He leads NACTO’s strategic communications work, and manages the annual Designing Cities conference. You’ll also see him riding transit and trying out bike share in all the NACTO member cities.
Prior to NACTO, Alex worked at the Municipal Art Society, developing online tools to help demystify New York City’s planning process, and at the NYC Department of Transportation, where he oversaw the agency’s social media presence, managed advertising and outreach campaigns, helped manage Summer Streets, and introduced New York City’s first pothole mascot.
Alex has a B.A. in Metropolitan Studies from New York University.
