Lisa Nuszkowski

Lisa Nuszkowski is an advocate for and leader in transportation and mobility in Detroit. She is the founder and executive director of MoGo Detroit Bike Share, the city’s public bike share system, with 430 bikes at 430 stations located in 10 Detroit neighbourhoods. Lisa also oversees Open Streets Detroit, an annual program that temporarily closes major roads to vehicles and opens the streets up for people to walk, run, bike, play and engage with the community. Prior to this, she worked on urban mobility initiatives, real estate development projects, and public safety enhancements for Wayne State University’s Office of Economic Development. Lisa has served in two City of Detroit administrations, as Chief of Staff to former House Majority Floor Leader in the Michigan legislature, and as Director of the statewide Michigan Foreclosure Task Force. She serves on the board of directors of the Tour de Troit, a nonprofit organization that promotes healthy living through running, bicycling and bicycle safety.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Central Michigan University and a Master of Public Policy from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. She was recognized as one of Crain’s Detroit 40 Under 40 in 2016; was a member of the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Leadership Detroit Class of XXXIV; and was selected as a 2011 Marshall Memorial Fellow with the U.S. German Marshall Fund. As a proud Detroiter of more than 13 years, she loves connecting with the city’s people and places by bike and on foot.
