Edward Tang

Edward Tang is an Assistant Engineer with the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). His passion for intelligent transportation systems drew him to the Transit Engineering/SFgo group, where he has worked extensively on the planning and implementation of various technologies to improve transportation in San Francisco, such as transit signal priority (TSP). In the past year, Edward has worked to retime over 200 traffic signals to optimize TSP for light rail vehicles and buses. In addition, he has had the opportunity to work closely with the SFMTA’s Cable Car Division to optimize signal timing and preemption for cable cars.

Edward holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Merced, and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
