Urban Street & Bikeway Design Training

The City of Aurora will host a training on the Urban Street & Urban Bikeway Design Guide, led by NACTO Certified Trainers Rob Burchfield and Jessica Juriga. Workshop will consist of a training on the Guides, as well as a hands-on design charrette based on a site in Aurora. Training objectives include:

  • Urban bikeway facility design, including design of protected bike lanes, conventional and buffered bike lanes; bicycle boulevard planning, navigation, and crossings; and providing safe accommodations of all users at intersections.
  • Urban street design concepts, including multi-modal accommodation, traffic calming, and engineering design controls for successful implementation of street redesign projects.
