One of the country’s most prolific speakers on equity in transportation, Tamika Butler, Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, works every day to improve mobility and opportunity for women, youth, low-income people, people with disabilities, and people of color.

In her speech, “Planning While Black,” Tamika unpacked the issue of race, equity, and privilege in the planning community, imploring planners, advocates, and practitioners to explicitly think about race and identity in the course of doing our work, and perform critical self-reflection as a profession.
